- The CBD Curators

T180 Bedford Street

he CBD Curators is the first ever CBD only, store in Stamford located at 180 Bedford Street. The store carries 20 brands of various CBD products including; tinctures, muscle and joint pain creams, capsules, massage oils, and bath bombs. They also carrymultiple edibles including; gummies of various flavors, uplifting full spectrum chocolate from Vermont, as well as gourmet chocolate, and over a dozen exotic hemp teas that are great for relaxation.

The founder, Rob MacArthur, is a 52-year old Stamford native who recently returned to open The CBD Curators. “After discovering CBD, my life changed for the better— reducing years of chronic pain, improving my sleep and mood. I decided to dig into the vast CBD industry. I sampled dozens of products, from across the CBD industry. There are thousands of brands out there and not a lot of guidance for consumers. I set out on a journey and found the best products at the best prices.

Learning how to find the best CBD is an art and science. He spent a over a year analyzing and interpreting sometimes

complicated and confusing lab reports. He is continually on the hunt for new and better products for my customers. This is a craft industry.

“Letme worry about finding the best products while you learn how to use them. It’s not, which brand that works best inmy store--they all work, or they wouldn’t be in the store. I am not doctor, but I do consider myself a connoisseur of fine CBD. I am determined to constantly have a flow of new products coming from industry.”

MacArthur says, “If I can help just one person feel less chronic pain, one person feel less depressed and anxious, then I’ve had a good day. I feel compelled to share what I have learned about CBD.” He then spent months sampling several dozen CBD products from many companies. Lots of products just didn’t work because they didn’t have enough CBD or other cannabinoids to aid in the healing process. CBD and the accompanying cannabinoids supportmany kinds of healing. “Unfortunately, there are a lot of weak products on the market.”

Cannabidiol, CBD, is a non-psychoactive chemical compound derived from the hemp plant. Unlike its close cousin, marijuana, which has approximately 20% THC hemp has .3% THC or less. THC is the compound that causes a “high” but in small doses it has great healing properties. Hemp has over 100 different chemical compounds known as cannabinoids of which CBD is the main compound.

Each cannabinoid has its own healing properties. Legalized with the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, the market has seen a flurry of CBD products coming to market. Hemp is now being researched as a potential treatment for pain, inflammation, depression, anxiety, insomnia, and a variety of other conditions. The United States is playing catch-up to the rest of the world in the area of CBD research. Because CBD is so new, it became obvious that the industry lacked education.

CBD is going to be game changer for the health and wellness industry, but consumers need help learning about how to find and use quality CBD. “I’ve met a lot of people that tried CBD and didn’t get the results they wanted. That’s why I wanted to start a retail store chain. It’s too hard to efficiently buy products on the Internet. I’ve learned a lot so customers don’t have to. For example, most people don’t realize that CBD is a little like alcohol. The more you weigh, the more you need to take.” “Consumers will find that our products are at a discount to our competitors, while the quality of our products is likely higher,” said MacArthur.

Even while CBD products are not yet approved by the FDA, hemp products, including those carried by The CBD Curators, go through substantial testing prior coming to themarket. It is industry standard to test for heavymetals, pesticides, microbes, as well as test for proper amounts of THC.
