The popular Homestead Inn changes owners

Scene… The Homestead Inn-Thomas Henkelmann in the Belle Haven section of Greenwich has been sold. The popular restaurant and inn that has been owned and operated by Theresa Carroll and Chef Thomas Henkelmann for the past 20 years is a favorite among locals and celebritie­s, including actress Susan Lucci and her husband chef/producer Helmut Huber. The new owners, the McDevitt Company, a property developmen­t and brokerage firm, and the Glazer Family Office, founders of the Inn at GrayBarns on the Silvermine River in Norwalk, say they plan to refurbish the inn, restaurant and grounds. Henkelmann and his team will continue to operate the restaurant and inn through New Year’s Day. The property will be closed for renovation­s after Jan. 1.

Out there… The Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Associatio­n’s 60th annual Awards Dinner takes place on Nov. 18 at the Stamford Hilton. The event, which honors national and local athletes, will feature an open bar cocktail reception, sports raffle and silent auction. This year’s national honorees are two-time Super Bowl Champion and XXV MVP Ottis Anderson and 2004 Stanley Cup Champion and Hockey Hall of Famer Martin St. Louis. Scene… NFL Network analyst and host Steve “Mooch” Mariucci was seen having dinner with his wife Gayle and son at Tony’s at The JHouse in Riverside on Thursday night. Mariucci served as head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. Grammy-winning rapper Lil Nas X was also seen at the popular spot, where he stayed overnight after performing during Rolling Loud New York at Citi Field.

Out there… Children of Fallen Patriots will hold its 12th annual Greenwich Gala, honoring those who were lost on 9/11, at the Riverside Yacht Club on Nov. 6. This year’s event will honor Lt. Gen. Andrew P. Poppas with the Patriot Award. Poppas, who serves as the Director of the Joint Chiefs Staff, will address the room followed by words from Caitlin Rowe, a Fallen Patriots scholarshi­p recipient. Out there… The Greenwich YWCA’s fourth annual Women Who Inspire Awards virtual event takes place on Nov. 11. CNN coanchor Alisyn Camerota of Westport will host the event, which recognizes exceptiona­l women in the community who have excelled in philanthro­pic, profession­al and volunteer pursuits. The 2021 Recipients are Wendy Block, Anna Cerra, Dr. Andrea F. Douglas, Deirdre Shay Kamlani, Clarena L. Mcbeth, Elaine Ubiña, Yonni Wattenmake­r, Allison J. Wolowitz and Jacqueline D. Woods. Scene… Singer John Legend was seen having dinner with his wife, supermodel Chrissy Teigen, and their children Luna and Miles at Caputo Trattoria Italian Restaurant at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantuck­et recently. “The Voice” coach brought his “Bigger Love” tour to the resort’s Premier Theater on Oct. 16.
