Out there… The Historical Society of Greenwich Winter Market runs Thursday, Dec. 2 through Saturday, Dec. 4 at Christ Church on East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich. The curated market will feature 35 vendors offering the finest in gifts, jewelry, clothing, specialty foods, flowers and more. Scene… Brian Cashman, general manager of the New York Yankees, will once again rappel from the Landmark Building in Stamford’s Landmark Square on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. for the annual Heights & Lights Rappelling Santa event. Cashman and Santa and friends will descend down 22 stories of Stamford’s highest building and then zip-line to the Ferguson Library followed by a display of fireworks. The annual tree lighting will take place in Stamford’s Latham Park on Bedford Street after the event.

Out there… Westport Country Playhouse’s Youth Council will host a Winter Fun Fest on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Playhouse

courtyard and Lucille Lortel White Barn. The festival, organized and run by the Playhouse Youth Council, a group of local high school students, will feature winterthem­ed activities including games, story readings, a scavenger hunt, bingo, crafts, snacks, hot drinks, music by the Staples High School Orphenians and Chamber Orchestra and photos with Santa ($5). Food Truck Refinery will be on site with their specialtie­s available for purchase.
