Blake Lively heads to Martha Stewart’s tag sale

Scene … Broadcast journalist, author and breast cancer survivor Joan Lunden served as keynote speaker at the American Cancer Society’s eighth annual “Woman Leading the Way to Wellness” luncheon on Wednesday at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa. Lunden also signed copies of her bestsellin­g book, “Why Did I Come Into This Room: A Candid Conversati­on about Aging?” Forever Sweet Bakery in Norwalk provided cookies to each person.

Scene … Greenwich resident Bob Elmo, a senior vice president at UBS and celebrity broker to the likes of late baseball greats Joe DiMaggio and Tommy Lasorda as well as singers Frankie Valli and Carrie Underwood, was seen having dinner with his wife at Tony’s at the J House. They were joined by Bill Endico, owner of ACE Endico food purveyors, and his wife and Frank Corvino, former president/CEO of Greenwich Hospital.

Out there … Greenwich Library’s AuthorsLiv­e series will feature Greenwich resident and author Claude Johnson at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Johnson will discuss his new book, “The Black Fives: The Epic Story of Basketball’s Forgotten Era.” Johnson will be joined in conversati­on with Stu Jackson, former head coach of the New York Knicks. Scene … “The Great American Tag Sale with Martha Stewart,” which took place last month at her 150-acre farm in Katonah, N.Y., was broadcast on ABC on Wednesday night. Over 1,500 people traveled to buy her treasures, including Bedford, N.Y., resident and actress Blake Lively and her mother; Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar from “The View;” and Greenwich resident and TV personalit­y Lara Spencer. Kris Jenner made an appearance via video and sent her assistant, Matt, to purchase Stewart’s McCoy jadeite green glass collection. Elizabeth Jackson, owner of Elizabeth Jackson Estate Sales, made her debut on the show with her crew, which helped set up the event. The sale raised over $800,000 for the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Hospital, which provides assisted living to older adults and their families.

Scene …Greenwich resident and America’s favorite judge and TV personalit­y Judge Judy Sheindlin was seen enjoying dinner at La Cremailler­e in Bedford, N.Y., on the evening of May 20.

Out there … Abilis’ third annual golf scramble takes place June 6, at E. Gaynor Brennan Golf Course in Stamford. The event begins at 7 a.m. with a continenta­l breakfast, an 8 a.m. shotgun tee time, and a barbecue and raffle from noon to 3 p.m. at Zody’s 19th Hole restaurant. A raffle offering gift cards and goods from local businesses will also take place. The nonprofit organizati­on provides services and supports over 800 individual­s with special needs and their families in Fairfield County.
