Museums to offer free military admission

- By Emilie Munson

Over 50 Connecticut museums will offer free admission to active duty military and their families this summer, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Monday.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to those who sacrifice so much for the freedoms and safety we all hold dear,” he said. “Connecticut’s museums offer an unparalleled educational and cultural experience, and I’m pleased to announce that military members and their families will be able to enjoy so many of them free of charge.”

The museums are free to military from Memorial Day to Labor Day, thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the U.S. Department of Defense.
