Realtor, philanthropist, survivor
MaryAnn Grabel loves that Greenwich has a home for all — from young professionals to young families, from homebuyers who are just starting out to those who may be downsizing at retirement.
“Greenwich is so diverse, and its distinctive neighborhoods and hamlets allows homeowners to move to different sections of Greenwich as their lifestyles change,” Grabel said.
Grabel herself recently relocated, selling the Greenwich home where she’d lived for more than a decade, in favor of a residence closer to town. The experience broadened her empathy for buyers and sellers embarking on the journey.
Grabel is a Connecticut- and New Yorklicensed Realtor with Douglas Elliman Real Estate. She’s been a broker for more than 20 years, and worked in the New York City market for more than a decade before joining Douglas Elliman’s Greenwich office.
“I understand the mentality of the New York City buyer and the fears they may have about moving out of the City,” she said.
“I’m able to help guide them through the process, highlighting all of the things they can look forward to making a home and life in Greenwich.”
Grabel prides herself on managing expectations and providing expert analysis, so clients set realistic goals and make informed decisions. Over the course of her career, Grabel has facilitated more than $100 million in real estate transactions.
Grabel is also known for her staging expertise. She noted that most homes can benefit from strategic staging.
“I love helping sellers utilize what’s already in their homes, to make it look fabulous without the expense of a professional stager. There are times when additional help and furnishings are needed, and I’m able to connect my clients with reputable staging professionals.”
Grabel also leverages Douglas Elliman’s global marketing reach, professional photography, videos and other digital marketing technologies to promote her listings.
“You cannot make a second first impression,” she explained. “Most buyers view homes online, so you have a few seconds to catch and hold their attention.”
Grabel is a breast cancer survivor, and is excited to be one of the models at the Breast Cancer Alliance luncheon, which will be held at the Greenwich Hyatt on October 30, 2018. Moving forward, Grabel has generously pledged a portion of her real estate income to the Breast Cancer Alliance.
