Fotis Dulos wants his stuff back

Missing woman’s husband requests that police return belongings

- Staff reports

NEW CANAAN — Fotis Dulos is back to work and wants police to return his belongings they seized during their investigation into the disappearance of his estranged wife.

His defense team has filed a motion requesting authorities return his Ford Raptor pickup truck, Chevy Suburban, Jeep Cherokee, two phones, several computers, a server, hard drive and two external drives.

“The defendant needs access to it for practical reasons and in order to mount his defense,” according to the motion signed by Kevin Smith, an associate in lead defense attorney Norm Pattis’ New Haven firm.

Smith also signed a motion requesting authorities to “preserve all documents, audio or visual recordings, including all

tapes, transcriptions or other recordings of all telephone calls” they have gathered in the case.

Pattis did not return Hearst Connecticut Media messages this week seeking comment, but told WFSB his client has been back working on properties being developed and sold by his firm, the Fore Group.

“People aren’t buying his properties right now, or if they are, they’re offering to purchase them at far lower rates and he’s not interested,” Pattis told WFSB. “So, he’s back at work and trying to keep his business afloat amid tremendous public hostility.”

Fotis Dulos was seen Monday sweeping the front porch of a New Canaan home his real estate development company is trying to sell, according to Fox 61.

The 7,000-square-foot home on Sturbridge Hill Road, listed at $4.8 million, is where neighbors said they heard loud banging noises the morning after Jennifer Dulos went missing.

A former Fore Group employee who was working on the Sturbridge Hill Road home was seen driving Fotis Dulos’ Ford Raptor pickup truck in New Canaan the day of the disappearance. But Lindy

Urso, an attorney representing the man, whose identity Hearst Connecticut Media is withholding, said last week that his client has cooperated with investigators and has been ruled out as a suspect.

Fotis Dulos, 51, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, 44, are free on bail after being arraigned last week on charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

Jennifer Dulos was last

seen around 8 a.m. May 24 after dropping her five children off at New Canaan Country School. After missing several doctors appointments in New York, she was reported missing around 7 p.m. that night.

According to their arrest warrants, Fotis Dulos and Troconis were seen on video surveillance driving on Albany Avenue in Hartford around the time Jennifer Dulos was reported missing.

Fotis Dulos was seen tossing garbage bags into more than 30 trash bins in a 4-mile span that were later determined to have his estranged wife’s blood on some of them, the warrants said.

For the past two weeks, investigators have been using cadaver dogs to sift through piles of trash at a Hartford garbage dump. It remains unclear if they have found anything valuable to the case.
