Prostate cancer lecture
Robert Shekhdar from the Prostate Cancer Alliance will discuss “Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment of Prostate

Duplicate Bridge Games
Weekly open Duplicate Bridge games are held at 12:15 p.m. Mondays at YWCA

Managing arthritis

Bruce Beginnings is a program for children ages 2.5 to 5 with an adult at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Bruce Museum. Explore the museum’s collections and exhibitions through picture books and hands-on activities. This program takes place on the museum’s free admission day and space is limited. Suffrage Centennial
The Greenwich Historical Society’s new exhibition will showcase the role of Greenwich women on the national stage in achieving passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment. Running from Feb. 5 through Sept. 6, “An Unfinished Revolution: The Woman’s Suffrage Centennial” will feature historic objects from museums, libraries, private collections and descendants of suffragists to illustrate the struggle for the right to vote. The Historical Society will explore broader social and civic issues that resonate today, such as voter registration, voter suppression and the Equal Rights Amendment. The Greenwich Historical Society, at 47 Strickland Road, is open noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. Entry is $10 for adults; $8 for seniors and students; free under age 18. Perfectly Polite bridge
The Perfectly Polite Bridge Group holds Duplicate Bridge games at the Greenwich YMCA on Wednesdays from 9:45 a.m. to noon for Relaxed Duplicate Bridge and from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. for Relaxed Duplicate Bridge / Conventions. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for nonmembers. You do not need a partner to play. Only prepaid players are guaranteed a seat. Try Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a relaxing exercise that can loosen joints, improve balance and teach graceful movements to music. This evidencebased exercise program is designed specifically for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Waste Free lecture
The Byram Shubert Library will host an event called “Toward a Waste Free Greenwich with Julie DesChamps” from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Community Room. Waste Free Greenwich is a community resource promoting the 6Rs — refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, repair and rot. Find out how you can make a positive impact by donating your unwanted items, upcycling, reusing, and so much more. Julie Deschamps is a board member of Friends of Greenwich Point and the Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board.
Abstract composition exhibit
“The Figure as Abstract Composition,” a solo exhibit of recent paintings by Nancy W. McFarland, will be on exhibit through Feb. 28 at the Greenwich Art Society’s gallery at 299 Greenwich Ave. An artist’s reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 6. McFarland, who works from her Westport studio, spent many years studying the human form throughout her career as an illustrator, art director and photographer. The paintings will be on view 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
