Bird Count at Cos Cob Library

Learn about Winter Bird Watching and how your family can take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count in your neighborho­od in an event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cos Cob Library at 5 Sinawoy Road. Ryan MacLean, from the Greenwich Audubon Center, will introduce some of the most common winter birds in the area and explain how everyone can count these birds this weekend. All participan­ts will receive a color chart of common backyard birds. MacLean will lead a brief walk outside to conduct a bird count at Mill Pond Park across the street from the library. Tax prep help

The AARP Foundation is providing free tax preparatio­n services to all Greenwich residents. Volunteers will be available to help at in the third floor Hayton Room of Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays on the first floor of the Peterson Wing in the Greenwich Library. Bring wage and earning statements, including any W-2, 1099-R and 1099-Misc forms; health insurance and Affordable Health Care statements; interest and dividend statements from banks, known as Form 1099s; copies of federal and state tax returns from last year; and photo ID and Social Security cards for the taxpayer, their spouse and dependents. Also, bring a blank check, which will be returned to the taxpayer. Married couples filing jointly must both sign the tax returns before they can be filed. Appointmen­ts are suggested but not required by emailing at greenwicht­axaid@gmail.com. Drop-ins will be taken in order of arrival.

Family bird count

Join Audubon naturalist­s to watch birds and participat­e in a worldwide bird count from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Greenwich Audubon Center at 613 Riversviel­le Road. Learn how to identify and count backyard songbirds at the bird feeders and take a brief walk through the apple orchard to find birds outside. Afterwards, the findings will be submitted to an online database. Also, learn how you can do the bird count at home. All ages are welcome. Admission is $10 per person. Family gallery tours

The Bruce Museum, 1 Museum Drive, host Family Gallery Tours from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Sundays. The tours are geared for kids ages 6 to 10. Free with regular admission, and no registrati­on is required. Visit brucemuseu­m.org for more info.

Duplicate Bridge Games

Weekly open Duplicate Bridge games are held at 12:15 p.m. Mondays at YWCA Greenwich. The games are sanctioned by the American Contract Bridge League, with masterpoin­t awards to top finishers. The card fee to play one session is $12. For more informatio­n, contact Steve Becker at 203-637-8927.
