Greenwich Art Society welcomes Bendheim Exhibit visitor tours
GREENWICH — The Greenwich Art Society will welcome visitors to a oneday-only event with inperson tours of the Bendheim Exhibit in its gallery.
The tours will be given from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, with a limit of six visitors at a time.
The 15-minute timed visit will be guided by a Greenwich Art Society member and Greenwich Arts Center staff.
All visitors must wear masks, and social distancing will be enforced.
Entry is at the sliding glass doors at the rear of the building. The Bendheim Gallery is located in the Greenwich Arts Center at 299 Greenwich Ave.
Visitors are asked to be patient and wait outside while the gallery staff manages moving the groups in and out of building.
The 103rd annual juried exhibition can also be viewed in a special online viewing room/virtual gallery space on the society’s website. It is on display through Oct. 24 at the Bendheim Gallery.
The juror was Geaninne Gutiérrez-Guimarães, associate curator at Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation. As associate curator, she is responsible for organizing exhibitions focusing on modern and contemporary Latin American art for the Guggenheim.
The Greenwich Art Society was not able to hold its usual public reception for the show because of COVID-19 restrictions.
“This is very challenging for us because of COVID, but we are trying our best to provide the accepted artists with alternatives for viewing the show and helping them promote their work,” the art society said in a statement.
