SNY unveils plan to televise UConn games this season

SNY will televise 18 UConn women’s basketball games this season, including the season opener against Quinnipiac on Nov. 28 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The network announced its plans for the upcoming season on Thursday. In addition to game coverage, SNY will present pre-game, post-game, and halftime shows, along with a season preview and the Huskies All Access show.

Allen Bestwick will return for his second season season as the play-by-play voice, with former UConn player Meghan Culmo back as the analyst. Maria Marino returns as the in-game reporte and contributor to the studio show.

The UConn Women’s Basketball Season Preview, hosted by Gary Apple, will air at noon on Nov. 28, with the season opener tipping off at 12:30 p.m. The preview show will include interviews with coach Geno Auriemma and players, including highly-touted freshman Paige Bueckers.

Apple will be joined by Culmo and former UConn star Kara Wolters. Apple and Wolters will work the pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows throughout the season.

Huskies All Access will air immediately following the post-game show on Nov. 28. The 30-minute show will include a look at season preparation as Auriemma, his coaching staff, and players discuss the challenge of navigating the uncertainty caused by the pandemic. There will also be a segment on the freshman class of six players.
