KEEP AN EYE ON

Like old times: UConn will play its first regular-season Big East game since March 4, 2013 — a span of 2,843 days — following seven seasons in the American Athletic Conference. The Huskies won 19 regular season and 18 tournament titles as members of the league from 1982-2013.

“For me, it’s pretty special,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said of returning to the Big East. “I’m anxious to get down there and play. Right on cue, it’s snowing outside, you’re going to Jersey, Walsh Gym. The only thing that’s different is there’s not going to be anybody there.”

But he added: “It’s a Big East game. That’s all I need to know.”

The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 6, the moved to Dec. 17 after a member of UConn’s program tested positive for COVID-19. UConn and Seton Hall were among the schools that had to temporarily shut down last month due to the virus.

Pirates shorthanded: Seton Hall was without three players in Sunday’s loss to Albany, including Desiree Elmore, the team’s second-leading scorer (15.5). The East Hartford native is questionable for Tuesday with an unspecified injury, according to the school.

Meanwhile, coach Tony Bozzella returned after missing two games — wins over Saint Peter’s and Wagner — with COVID-19.

History at a glance: UConn has won 31 straight and 46 of the last 47 meetings with Seton Hall, and most recently beat the Pirates 92-78 on the road last December.
