KEEP AN EYE ON Stuff of nightmares:

Creighton coach Jim Flanery was a source of amusement during Big East media day in October, telling reporters he had been having nightmares about playing the Huskies.

But he added: “It’s a great experience because one, they have really great players, but two, they play the right way. They play really hard, they make you uncomfortable. There’s nothing you don’t admire about the way they play.”

The Bluejays are on a two-game win streak (Butler, Nebraska) since guard Tatum Rembao returned to the lineup after undergoing COVID-19 protocols. Rembao (14.0 PPG) and fellow senior Temi Carda (14.8) have taken on larger roles within the offense, replacing reigning Big East player of the year Jaylyn Agnew.

Message received: UConn coach Geno

Auriemma has been urging guard Christyn Williams to be more assertive on the floor, and that was her goal Tuesday against Seton Hall.

Williams answered right from the jump, scoring 11 of her 21 points in the opening quarter. She added four assists and three rebounds on the night.

“He was on me,” Williams said. “I’m a junior. I can’t be doing the same stuff I’ve been doing freshman and sophomore year.”

History lesson: The Huskies’ only meeting to date with Creighton, a 96-60 victory in their 2014 home opener, was the start of their record 111-game win streak that spanned two national titles and ended at the 2017 Final Four against Mississippi State.
