Third-generation Realtor is driven and diligent
Kimberly James’ lineage is noteworthy. She’s not only a fourth-generation resident of Greenwich, but she also represents the third generation of Realtors in her family. She’s a full-time Realtor with the Greenwich brokerage office of Houlihan Lawrence.
Prior real estate, James had a 15-year career in financial services and developed a network in Manhattan and across Fairfield County. The synergies between those markets are significant.
“Having that visibility from my New York City network is a key aspect of my ability to sympathize with my homebuyers and find them the solution they’re looking for,” she suggested. “I also think, having spent close to 10 years in the city and going through some major life events – grad school, new job, marriage, first baby – I am able to point out aspects of life in Greenwich that really hit home with my buyers coming from the city.”
As a Realtor, James has proven her focus, drive, and diligence in helping her clients find the perfect home, or the perfect buyer for their home. She believes her ability to solve problems, manage relationships, and navigate complex situations not only contributes to her professional success but enables her clients to have smooth, discreet, and successful real estate transactions.
She also leverages digital communications to network and market. “I believe technology has propelled the industry forward exponentially in the last several years,” she explained. “I reach a large majority of my network through my social media channels, as well as through virtual tours and digital marketing campaigns. It not only grows my business to a much larger scale, but it also enables me to educate my clients, so they can make informed decisions much earlier in the process.”
James is a member of the Greenwich Multiple Listing Service (GMLS), Greenwich Association of Realtors, Connecticut Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
James lives in Greenwich with her husband and two children. She serves on the leadership team at the Greenwich Newcomers Club; she’s an active member of the Junior League of Greenwich, and she and her husband launched a fundraising campaign for pancreatic cancer research through the Lustgarten Foundation.

She attended the Hockaday School in Dallas and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
A dancer for more than 35 years, James teaches dance and performs with local dance company, Mixt Co., and at Equinox with Billy Blanks, Jr. Besides dance, she counts photography and videography, outdoor sports, and summertime camping among her favorite pastimes.
