Teresa Dufour, host of ‘CT Style,’ announces her departure from WTNH-TV after 11 years
Teresa Dufour, host of “CT Style,” announced she will not be renewing her contract with WTNH; her last day will be June 30.
Her departure from the New Haven-based station comes after an 11-year career with News 8 (WTNH), according to Dufour’s LinkedIn, in which she co-hosted “Good Morning Connecticut,” as well as “CT Style” in the afternoon.
“After a number of discussions with management, and no word on if or when my show ‘CT Style’ would be returning, the role they offered me just didn’t align with my career ambitions or current life situation as a mom of two young children,” Dufour told Hearst Connecticut in an email.
According to Dufour, she is looking to make her future fall in line with the ever-changing media environment.
“The way people are consuming their media has changed since my start in television years ago,” she said. “No one is waiting until five o’clock to catch the headlines of the day. News and entertainment is on demand, when the viewer wants it. I want to be able to evolve with that change.”
Dufour said she will share her future plans soon on her personal website and on her social media accounts. According to Dufour, her experience serving Connecticut is one she is thankful for.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the support of this entire state as they have watched me grow up on television,” she said, mentioning her path from a new UConn graduate to a general assignment reporter at WFSB and then to News 8.
“Meeting my husband happened on live TV, sharing our wedding, the births of our children, there were even cameras in the operating room during my hip surgery. I’ve loved sharing my life with the people of Connecticut, who have always been so kind and supportive and motivating, and now it’s time to share the next chapter,” she said
