Juried art exhibit

The Greenwich Art Society will host a closing reception for its 104th Annual Juried Exhibition from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at at the Bendheim Gallery at 299 Greenwich Ave. The gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, but call the Greenwich Arts Council at 203-862-6750 first for COVID-attendance tracking first.

Rockin’ the Garden

Bring a blanket or chair and your favorite snacks as the Greenwich Botanical Center hosts music under the pines at 130 Bible St. The concert from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday will benefit Central Middle School and GBC. Firehouse ceremony

The Glenville Volunteer Fire Company station will mark the 20th anniversar­y of the terror attacks on 9/11 in a ceremony at 6 p.m. Sept. 10. The ceremony will

recognize the Greenwich citizens who were killed as well as all of the first responders. The ceremony is open to the public.

Sept 11 ceremony

Residents are invited to a townwide ceremony at the memorial in Cos Cob Park beginning at 8:46 a.m. Saturday to mark the 20th anniversar­y of the 9/11 terror attacks. An honor guard will lead a procession, and attendees will be allowed to place flowers at the base of the memorial. The service will begin with a cannon shot and a ringing bell to mark the moment that the first hijacked jet hit the World Trade Center. Social distancing protocols will be followed at the ceremony.

Weekend Farmers Market

The Greenwich Farmers Market runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Nov. 19 in the Arch Street commuter parking lot. Enjoy fresh Connecticu­tgrown produce all season. Polo season

The Greenwich Polo Club is holding matches Sept. 12, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26. Tickets may be purchased online and include a large range of

Beginner Bridge

A beginning bridge class is offered from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays at the Greenwich YMCA with the Perfectly Polite Beginner Bridge group. No knowledge of Bridge required. YMCA members pay $30, nonmembers pay $35 per class. Preregistr­ation by phone is required before 6 p.m. Mondays. Players must show COVID 19 vaccinatio­n cards on first entry into the Bridge Room. Secondary School Fair

The Secondary School Fair will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14. The Fair, sponsored by Whitby School and Greenwich Catholic, will offer informatio­n from more than 60 day and boarding schools from primarily the New England area for middle school students and their parents from the area. Representa­tives will be on-site to talk to families and answer questions. The event will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at

An Evening at the Farmstead

The Greenwich Land Trust will host An Evening at the Farmstead from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17. Tickets are still available, but space is limited at this fun, relaxed party with delicious food and cocktails. GHS Reunion Weekend

The Greenwich High School Classes of 1960, 1961 and 1962 will hold a joint 60th Reunion Weekend, from Sept. 17 to Sept. 19. The weekend will include visits to new (to them) Greenwich High School and gatherings at Greenwich Point as well as a special dinner and brunch. The Greenwich Historical Society will present a special exhibition of memorabili­a of the town in the early 1960s. Classmates from 1963 to 1965 are also invited to join in the festivitie­s.
