FIELD HOCKEY HIGHLIGHTS TOP PERFORMERS

Shannon Ackerly, Brookfield, F, Jr.: Scored her third hat trick of the season with three goals in Brookfield’s 4-0 win over Danbury.

Abby Amara, Valley Regional, M, Sr.: Had four goals and four assists last week combined in a 4-0 win over Shoreline Conference rival Westbrook and a 12-0 win over Woodstock Academy. Senior left wing Mia Alio had four goals combined last week and sophomore center forward Clara Shea added three goals and four assists.

Mackenna Cooke, Old Saybrook, M, Sr.: The center midfielder had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 Shoreline Conference win over Morgan and two goals and two assists in a 4-0 win over Haddam-Killingwor­th.

Emily Curtis, Cheshire, M-F, Sr.: Scored the game-winning goal with 10:49 left in the third quarter to lead the Rams to a 1-0 SCC win over Hand.

Riley Fitzgerald, Wilton, M-F, Sr.: Had two goals and an assist in a 5-0 FCIAC win over McMahon and a 2-2 tie with Ridgefield.

Ellie Goldstein, Hall, F, So.: Had four goals in a 4-0 CCC win over Southingto­n. Three of the four goals were assisted.

Molly Harding, Glastonbur­y, F, Sr.: Had four goals (two in each game) and an assist in CCC wins over Avon (4-0) and Enfield (7-0).

Elizabeth Kendra, Wilton, D-M-F, Sr.: Kendra scored in a 2-2 FCIAC tie with Ridgefield while only playing 7 minutes. “Lizzie is one of the players that we can call upon to fill any role on the team and get the same outstandin­g results,” coach Leon Kerr said. Kerr said Kendra took a ball to the forehead and is recovering with the

hope of returning soon to the lineup.

Alison Kopec, Barlow, M, Sr.: Ball handling, eliminatio­n skills, and strengths in passing, assisting and offensive penalty corners led to a 4-3 win over Masuk and a 2-1 win over Bethel.

Jess Leon, Staples, M, Sr.: The four-year starter had one goal and one assist in a 3-2 FCIAC win over Greenwich and had three goals and three assists in an 8-0 FCIAC win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Ella Liebel, New Fairfield, F, Sr.: The captain had an exceptiona­l game last week scoring three goals back-to-back against Brookfield in a 5-0 win on Oct. 4. The Rebels also beat Brookfield 3-0 on Sept. 20.

Ava Moniz, Weston, G, Sr.: On Oct. 4 she recorded her first shut out of the season in the team’s first win following a 2-0 SWC victory over New Milford.

Lily Schoonmake­r, Mercy, M, Jr.: Scored a hat trick in a 4-0 SCC win against Lyman Hall.
