STAMFORD — Manufacturer and technology-services company ITT says it’s planning to open its new headquarters in the city’s South End by March.

ITT said in a statement that it is “actively renovating” its new home, which covers about 24,000 square feet at 100 Washington Blvd., which is part of the mixeduse Harbor Point development. The company announced in June that it would move its headquarters there from White Plains, N.Y. It plans to have at least 60 employees based in the new offices.

“We are looking forward to beginning ITT’s next chapter in Stamford and becoming a part of the community,” the company’s statement said. “As a global manufacturer and developer of highly engineered components and technology, the newly designed space will inspire innovation, collaboration and provide creative solutions to serve our customers.”

In June, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said it would provide a grant of up to $1.995 million to support ITT’s move to Stamford. The funding is contingent on the company creating and retaining up to 57 full-time jobs.

“Our administration has been laserfocused on doing everything we can to get Connecticut’s economy growing again, and having a company with a worldwide reputation like ITT deciding to move their global headquarters to our state is nothing but a win,” Gov. Ned Lamont said in a statement in June. “I appreciate the team at ITT, including CEO Luca Savi, on selecting Connecticut, and I look forward to

having a strong working relationship as this company continues to grow here.”

ITT employs approximately 9,700 people across 35 countries. The company produced revenues of approximately $692 million in the quarter ending July 3 — a 34 percent year-over-year increase driven by growth in its Motion Technologies’ Friction business.

In June, several other major companies also announced they would open or expand their offices in southwestern Connecticut.

That group includes a future neighbor

of ITT, Tomo Networks, a financial-technology firm focused on real estate. Started last year, Tomo is based at 2200 Atlantic St., yards from 100 Washington. The company has said it plans to create up to 100 local jobs by the end of this year.

Another company in that group, financial-technology firm iCapital Network, last month opened offices in the Greenwich Plaza complex in downtown Greenwich. Company officials predict the number of Greenwich-based employees could rise to approximately 300 during the next two years.

Also in June, tobacco giant Philip Morris International announced that it would relocate its headquarters from Manhattan to somewhere in Connecticut and bring about 200 jobs to the state. This week, Lamont and U.S. Rep. Jim Himes said they expected PMI to locate the new headquarters at 677 Washington Blvd., in downtown Stamford. In a statement this week, PMI said it had not finalized the location of its new main offices.
