Frank O’Toole, a longtime Greenwich resident, died unexpected­ly on Monday, November 8, 2021. He was 39.

Growing up in Byram, Frank attended St. Paul’s Nursery School, New Lebanon Elementary School, Western Middle School and Greenwich High School. He participat­ed in the local Scout Pack/Troop 1 and served as an altar boy at Sacred Heart Church from first grade through his senior year. At Greenwich High School, he was a member of the Internatio­nal Thespian Society and played the tuba in the band. He graduated with the Class of 2000.

Frank was a Connecticu­t Certified Level 1 Firefighte­r, Medical Response Technician and dedicated volunteer with the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol. He taught CPR for the Red Cross including to members of his fire police patrol and the Greenwich Fire Department. As a 2nd Lieutenant and appointed driver with the CCFPP, Frank served on the Bed and Truck Committee for the 2004 CCFPP apparatus (Patrol 2), chaired the wet down ceremony for the truck, and lastly, was named Patrolman of the Year. His last title held was Veteran for retired service members of fifteen years or more.

Frank worked as a Greenwich town employee for over twenty years and began his career as a Ranger at Tod’s Point. He was a skate guard and zamboni driver at Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink before moving on to the Greenwich Police Department. For the past fifteen years he worked as a dispatcher and recently accepted a promotion to Lead Dispatcher.

Throughout his life Frank loved cars, playing piano, and his golden retriever Doc.

He is survived by his mother Barbara.

He was predecease­d by his father, Francis T. O’Toole, Sr.

Friends may call at Castiglion­e Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Rd #3, Greenwich, CT from 3:00pm to 7:00pm, Sunday, November 14th.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 15th, 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry St., Greenwich, CT followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 High St., Rye Brook, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenwich Police Department Scholarshi­p Fund or the Greenwich Council Boy Scouts of America.

The O’Toole family wishes to express their sincerest thank you to the Greenwich Police Department and the Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol for their support during this difficult time.
