CIAC basketball by the numbers

A look inside the numbers from a weekend of 10 CIAC basketball championsh­ips played at Mohegan Sun Arena:

1— Seniors on both the East Catholic and Notre Dame-West Haven rosters during the Division I championsh­ip game.

1— Mascots debuted. The Newington Nor’Easters debuted their new mascot —Nor’e the Nor’easter during the Class L championsh­ip game.

1— Known former NBA All-Stars in attendance at Mohegan Sun. Former Knick Allan Houston watched his daughter Rowan Houston and her Notre Dame-Fairfield team win the Class L title.

2— Bench points, Bristol Central scored in the Division II finals. Aaron Brown’s basket came with 14 seconds left in the game when the starters were pulled for both teams.

2— State titles, Notre Dame-Fairfield coach, Maria Conlon won as a player at Seymour.

3— State titles, Conlon now has on her resume after leading Notre Dame-Fairfield to the Class L title.

3— Turnovers Notre Dame-West Haven had in the Division I finals, was the least turnovers by any boys team.

3— State titles, Thomaston coach Bob McMahon has won as the girls basketball coach. All 3 has come from 2014 on.

3— Teams that won their first titles this weekend. First time champions: Hand boys, Notre Dame-Fairfield girls, East Hartford girls.

4— State titles, East Catholic coach Luke Reilly has won in his career, including this season.

6— Turnovers Newington had in the Class LL title game, was the least turnovers by any girls team.

7— 3-pointers made by the Windham boys team and the Sacred Heart Academy girls team. The most by any team during the finals.

8.7 — Shooting percentage of the Kolbe Cathedral boys team in the first half of the Division III finals.

9— Field goals Holy Cross’ Mya Zaccagnini made, which was the most scored by a girls player in the finals.

10 — Field goals Windham’s Isaiah Mangual made, which was the most scored by a boys player in the finals.

14 — Offensive rebounds Bristol Central’s Donovan Clingan grabbed in the Division II finals. His total is the same or more than 16 other teams that played this weekend.

17 — Rebounds Thomaston grabbed against Coventry. It was the least rebounds grabbed by a girls team.

18 — Rebounds Notre Dame-West Haven grabbed against East Catholic. It was the least rebounds grabbed by a boys team.

20 — In the highest anticipate­d game of the weekend, Bristol Central beat Northwest Catholic by 20 points, which was the biggest margin of victory in any of the boys finals.

21 — Rebounds Coventry’s Anaka Eaton has during the Class S title game. It was the most rebounds of any girls player this weekend. She scored 13 points in the loss to Thomaston.

21 — 3-pointers the Notre Dame-West Haven Green Knights attempted in the Division I finals. They made 4.

22 — Turnovers Hand boys team had in the

Division III finals. Despite being the most turnovers by any boys team in the finals, the Tigers still won the title.

23 — Margin of victory for Holy Cross vs. Bacon Academy in the Class M title game. It was the largest margin of victory in any girls final.

23 — Offensive rebounds Bloomfield grabbed in the Division IV finals, four more than any other team, boys or girls, that played in a championsh­ip game.

24 — Rebounds Bristol Central’s Donovan Clingan grabbed in the Division II finals.

25 — Points Bristol Central’s Donovan Clingan scored in the championsh­ip game. It was the most points scored in a boys title game.

26 — Points East Hartford’s Shailyn Pinkney scored in the Class LL championsh­ip game. It was the most points scored by a player in a girls final.

26 — Times Bacon Academy turned the ball over against Holy Cross in the Class M final.

32 — Times the Thomaston girls team got to the free throw line. The Golden Bears only made 46.9-percent of their chances from the charity stripe.

33 — Totals points scored by Wilton in the Class LL title game, the least points scored in a girls final.

36 — Total points scored by Northwest Catholic in the Division II finals, the lowest point total scored during a boys final this year.

43 — Current win streaks for both the Bristol Central boys team and the Holy Cross girls team, both of which won a state title.

45 — Rebounds Holy Cross grabbed in the Class M title game, the most in any girls final.

48.8 — Notre Dame-Fairfield’s field goal percentage during the Class L finals. The Lancers were the only girls team to have a percentage higher than 40%.

57 — Rebounds Bristol Central graded in the Division II championsh­ip game.

61 — Total points Holy Cross scored in the Class M championsh­ip. Was the most points scored in a girls final.

61.8 — East Catholic’s field goal percentage during the Division I championsh­ip, a onepoint win over Notre Dame-West Haven. This was the highest of any team that played in a state final.

62 — Total points Windham scored in the Division V championsh­ip. The Whippets total was the most points scored by a boys team.

62.5 — East Catholic’s 3-point shooting percentage during the Division I finals against Notre Dame-West Haven. The Eagles were the only team this weekend to shoot over 50% or higher from beyond the arc.

1,000 — Career points Holy Cross’ Mya Zaccagnini has after she scored 20 points in Holy Cross’ win in the Class M final.

1941 — Year the Windham boys basketball team last won a state title, before the Whippets won the Division V title on Saturday.

1990 — Year the Bristol Central boys basketball team last won a state title before the Rams took home the Division II title.

2,268 — Points Bristol Central’s Donovan Clingan finishes his high school with. Clingan finishes seventh all time in CIAC boys basketball history.

17,000+ — The amount o fans that were in attendance for the 10 boys and girls games.

8— In a swimming bonus, Greenwich swimming won its eighth straight state open title.
