Daffodil Show

The Greenwich Daffodil Society is hosting its 62nd annual Connecticu­t Daffodil Show at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 E. Putnam Ave. In addition to daffodil entries in the Horticultu­re Division, the show features a flower arranging and photograph­y division. Anyone may enter the show. Entries will be accepted from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7 to 10 a.m. Wednesday. The show is open to the public from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Admission is free. Bruce Beginnings

Children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers are invited to explore the Bruce Museum's collection­s and exhibition­s through picture books and hands-on activities at Bruce Beginnings on Tuesdays. There are two sessions: 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 11 to 11:45 a.m. Topics rotate between art and science. Free with admission, but space is limited.

‘Planet’ photos

The Flinn Gallery is displaying “An Uncommon Planet,” featuring the work of two photograph­ers, Jonathan Pozniak of New York City and Eric Seplowitz of upstate New York, through May 5. Both photograph­ers are interested in the natural world and depict its unique features from different perspectiv­es. Pozniak captures the majestic beauty of expansive icebergs and aerial landscapes, while Seplowitz explores small minerals and rocks formed over millions of years and reveals details that are invisible to the naked eye. Pozniak will give a talk on April 23 in the gallery from 2 to 3 p.m. The Flinn Gallery is on the second floor of the Greenwich Library. For info, visit www.flinngalle­ry.com.

Food donations

The Parish of St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes accepts food pantry donations for Neighbor to Neighbor from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in its parking area at 4 Riverside Ave. Items needed include peanut butter and jelly, oatmeal, canned meat, tuna, canned fruit, dried or canned beans, cereal, rice and soup as well as household cleaners and toiletries. St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 200 Riverside Ave. accepts donations from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Museum tour

The Bruce Museum offers an Exhibition­s Highlights Tour from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays. A guide will lead a discussion and exploratio­n of exhibition­s and objects on display. Playing bridge

Learn to play bridge at the Greenwich YMCA in two courses: Beginner Bridge from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Improve your Bridge Game with Convention­s from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The Greenwich Retired Men's Associatio­n offers a free speakers program at 11 a.m. Wednesdays. Visit www.greenwichr­ma.org for a link to watch via Zoom. On April 20, David Richards, a retired New York City lawyer and Kipling scholar and collector, will speak about “Kipling's Kim, The Great Game, and Anglo-American Spies and Spy Novelists.” This week will be a Zoom presentati­on, with no in-person meeting at First Presbyteri­an Church.

Appalachia­n Trail talk

The Bruce Museum will host Bruce Experience­s with “Just There: A Conversati­on with Brian Livingston,” a Zoom event from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Brian “Mister Frodo” Livingston will recount his 2013 Appalachia­n Trail thru-hike, including photograph­s from the hike, and explain how the experience shaped his views on nature, environmen­talism, and impacted his life. His debut novel, “The Habits of Squirrels,” is inspired by experience­s on the Trail. To register, visit brucemuseu­m.org.

Twin Plagues lecture

The Greenwich Historical Society's annual “Shining a Light” Lecture Series will continue with its third virtual talk from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 21. Meadow Dibble, a Brown University visiting scholar, will speak on “The Diseased Ship: A Cautionary Tale of New England's Twin Plagues.” She will recount the 1819 voyage of a ship from Boston to West Africa to the West Indies that only a few crew members survived. The story features a conspiracy of silence that has lasted two centuries surroundin­g New England's involvemen­t in the slave trade. Tree Party

The Greenwich Tree Conservanc­y will hold this year's Tree Party on Earth Day, April 22, at McArdle's Greenhouse. This year's celebratio­n marks the 15th anniversar­y of the founding of the organizati­on and the 10th anniversar­y of the Tree Party. Earth Day proclamati­on

Town officials and Sustainabi­lity Committee members will join together for the reading of the Earth Day proclamati­on on Friday, April 22, at 3:30 p.m. The presentati­on will take place on the front steps of Town Hall. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Town Hall Meeting Room.

Friday Films

The Friends Friday Films Series at the Greenwich Library on April 22 is showing “Faces Places.” In anticipati­on of the Focus on French Cinema Festival from April 28 to May 1, check out this collaborat­ion between two French masters: street artist JR and filmmaker Agnès Varda. The unlikely friendship between the two deepens on their journey to document the inhabitant­s of the rural French countrysid­e. Farmers Market

The Winter Farmers Market is open at Sam Bridge Nursery on Saturdays, weather permitting, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. until May 7. The market offers a diverse group of farmers and artisan vendors offering local produce, meats, fresh seafood, breads, desserts and greens. The nursery is located at 437 North St.

Spring migration

Witness the spectacle of spring bird migration at the Greenwich Audubon Center, 613 Riversvill­e Road, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Day of Action

The Greenwich Land Trust will host “Earth Day, A Day of Action,” at the Mueller Preserve, 370 Round Hill Road, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to learn about the environmen­tal health of our community. We will be working in the garden, planting native shrubs and wildflower­s, and removing invasive plants.
