Dolores Gudrun Johansson Anderson, age 95, passed away on December 20, 2021, in Huntington, Long Island, New York. Dolores was born in Newark, NJ on February 22, 1926.

Due to the early demise of her Father, Dr. Karl Johansson, Dolores was returned to her parent's homeland of Sweden, where she was raised by relatives until her mother was able to bring her back to America at the age of 12, in 1938. She was educated in Sweden and graduated from Brooklyn College. After returning to the United States, Dolores met her future husband Endy Anderson at a Scandinavi­an Santa Lucia Festival in New York City. At the age of 17 she was voted “Lucia”, as World War Two raged on, and the two fell in love. The “Lucia” festival still exists today. Dolores worked for the American Enka Corporatio­n in Manhattan, and Endy started a plastic injection molding shop, which later became Anderson, Tool and Die Corporatio­n. He became a pioneer in the industry, and the company grew to become the oldest injection molding company in the country.

Dolores married Endy Anderson in 1947, and they were married for 40 Years, until Endy passed in 1987.

Dolores became extremely active in the Women's Club of Greenwich, the Greenwich Garden Club where she won many awards for her arrangemen­ts, also a Member of the Red Cross, and very active at the Second Congregati­onal Church of Greenwich. People came from near and far to go to the annual Christmas Arts and Crafts sale at the Second Church, which Dolores ran for many years. She was also instrument­al in helping to start up the Act Two Boutique, which was a very active consignmen­t shop at Second Congregati­onal Church, and still in existence today.

Poetry was also a talent for Dolores. She often wrote about nature, and many of her poems were distribute­d daily by “Meals on Wheels” to the elderly and others who required that assistance.

Dolores was predecease­d by her husband of 40 years, Endy Anderson. She is survived by her children Karin Anderson Wadkovsky (Paul) of Cold Spring Harbor, NY, and Karl Fredrick Anderson (Roberta) of Franklin, TN and New Fairfield, CT. She is also survived by her grandchild­ren Marisa Wadkovsky Lewis (Daniel), Endy Anderson, and Robert Anderson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022, at noon at the Second Congregati­onal Church of Greenwich, Conn. in the Chapel located at 139 E. Putnam Ave, Greenwich, CT 06830.
