Shan Louise Brock

-

Shân Louise Brock passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday evening, January 8th. She was an incredibly loving mother to her four children: Harriet, Bryony, Freddie and Brontë; a loving wife to her husband, Michael; a fiercely loyal sister to her siblings, Karen and Zoë; a devoted daughter to her parents, Sally and David; and an uplifting and joyous friend to many. She was an undeniably unique shining light walking among us, spreading joy and hope wherever she went - her spirit will forever burn bright.

She grew up in Sandy Lodge, Northwood, Middlesex and attended St. Helen’s school before studying Law at University of the West of England. Following in her father’s footsteps, she became a solicitor at Joelson Wilson LLP before retiring to start her adoring family.

She met Michael at the age of 13 and having never left each other’s sides, they were married in June of 1990. In September 1999 the family emigrated to Old Greenwich, CT where they have lived ever since.

Shân was an absolute angel. She touched countless lives with her generosity, kindness, endless positivity and pure joy for life. She was a competitive sportsperson who loved skiing, golf, tennis and paddle. She loved to travel and arranged wonderful holidays for her family.

In March 2014, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer. Despite being given a challenging prognosis, she refused to give up hope that one day she would beat the disease. She fought fearlessly and forcefully for 9 years, while leading a full and joyful life. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Michael Cecchini and his incredible oncology team at Yale New Haven Hospital and the oncology team at Greenwich Hospital.

Shân had an unshakable, beautiful faith, and was an inspiration to everyone she met. There will be a service at 12 noon on Friday January 20th, 2023 at The First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT 06870. There will also be a memorial service and celebration of Shan’s life later in the year at Christ Church Chorleywood, UK.
