Clementina M. Baker transition­ed peacefully into eternal sweet rest on January 18th, 2024 at the beautiful age of 94 in Greenwich, CT. She was born in 1929 in Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies to the late Samuel and Albertha McKenzie. Clementina was predecease­d by her two sisters: Estella Campbell and Ivy Mais and five brothers: Wellesley, Thomas, Alexander, Simon, and Simeon McKenzie.

Clementina loved the Lord and maintained a dedicated relationsh­ip with Him. She attended church every Sunday and was an active member of the Nursing Home Ministry, as well as the Shiloh Missionary Ministry at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Clementina lived her life serving Jesus as His humble servant. It was a joy for her to tell others that Jesus loves them. She enjoyed talking about Jesus. As a young adult, Clementina taught Sunday School and would visit the parents in her community and encourage them to send their children to Sunday School. Moreover, she would also take on the responsibi­lity of picking up the children from their parents and bringing them to Sunday School. Clementina was a loving mother, nurturing many with her sound wisdom from the Lord, integrity and strength. Clementina loved reading the Bible, praying to the Lord, cooking, baking, gardening, and sewing.

Clementina’s commitment to family and friends will be treasured by her son Lloyd, her daughter Velma, darling niece Angela Doeman (Dolfin); four devoted and adored church sisters: Sister Mae Booker, Sister Julia Payne, Sister Sheila Payne, and Sister Emma Goings; fifteen super-caring, committed friends: Drs. William and Lois Travis; Gayla, Elizabeth and Catherine

Merrick; Angela Turner – Mitchell; Marjorie Turner; Bishop Desroy Rankine; Valerie and Aurelio Saiz; Kelly San Filippo; Isonia Holodnak; Monica Caine; Nicholas and Robert Holodnak, and many other family members and friends.

Special deep heartfelt thanks to God’s earthly angels who attended to Clementina faithfully: Dr. Brenda Chan, Dr. Nina Inamdar, Dr. Pavel Teslya, Eva Wallace APRN, Reverend Carrie McEvoy, Dr. Kasandra Erazo, Dr. Laura Belland, Dr. Valerie Carter, and Melissa Wong.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, January 26th, 2024 from 4 PM – 8 PM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. Stamford, CT 06905.

Viewing will take place from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, CT 06901. Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Stanwich Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributi­ons to honor Clementina’s memory be made to the “Annie M. Davis Scholarshi­p Fund FTMBC,” Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove St., Stamford, CT 06901.
