GAMES TO WATCH Fairfield at Woodstock Academy (Pomfret), Saturday, 11:30 a.m.:

Fairfield's one loss in the past six games going into Wednesday was an 8-1 win for No. 3 New Canaan. Woodstock played New Canaan on the road Monday night, and only an empty-net goal stretched the Rams' margin of victory to 3-1. The teams met Jan. 3 at Sacred Heart, a 6-4 Fairfield win in which the Mustangs turned a 2-1 deficit into a 6-2 lead.

Notre Dame-West Haven at Fairfield Prep (Wonderland), Saturday, 12:30 p.m.:

Going into Wednesday's game against Xavier, Fairfield Prep hadn't lost in-state since its 4-1 loss to Notre Dame on Jan. 6. Granted, that's a two-game winning streak. Both the Jesuits and Green Knights have done better against teams with Connecticut addresses than not, but they're both playing those schedules for the same reason: to be ready for March. Another month, and we'll see how they did.

Wethersfield at Simsbury (ISCC), Saturday, 6:10 p.m.:

This one may not have popped on the schedule so much until last Saturday, when Wethersfield and Simsbury were scoreless until the third in Newington. Let's see what Round 2 brings.

Tri-Town at Housatonic co-op (South Kent), Saturday, 7:40:

These teams met a year ago to honor Housatonic's Marcus Rogers, who with his grandfather had died days earlier in a car wreck. They'll honor Rogers' memory again Saturday.

Bishop Hendricken (R.I.) at Darien (Darien Ice House), Saturday, 4:20 p.m.; LaSalle Academy (R.I.) at Darien (Darien Ice House), Sunday, 3 p.m.; Bishop Hendricken at Greenwich (Hamill), Sunday, 5:30 p.m.: The annual Rhode Island vs. Connecticut meetup among these four returns to Fairfield County this year. (Greenwich had its LaSalle game a couple of weeks ago, a 2-1 loss.) There have been some fun and competitive games since these weekends began in 2019-20.
