North Park Students of the Week
GUYMON - Donathan Marquez is the fifth grade Student of the Week at North Park Elementary School. He is the son of Gabriel and Yvette Marquez as well as the grandson of Agustin and Maria Garcia. His teachers said,
“Donathan is full of energy and excitement for learning new things. He loves to ask questions, participate in class, and is a great friend to his peers.” When he was asked his feelings in regards to his selection he replied, “I always try to
do my best and I want to continue doing that. I try to be respectful to my teachers at all times.” His favorite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He has received the Prairie Pride award three times and is on the Honor Roll each semester. Away
from school he enjoys spending time with his family and playing outside. Donathan admires his father and stated, “I admire my Dad because he is always working and providing for his family. I want to be just
like my Dad!” His future plan is to become a dentist.
Karen Belli-Ixtepan is the sixth grade Student of the Week at North Park Elementary. She is the daughter of
Jorge Belli and Dora Ixtepan. Her teachers stated, “Karen is a great student. She follows the rules and is always respectful to other students as well as her teachers. She loves to read.” When Karen was asked her feelings in regards to her selection she replied, “I am
very happy because this tells me I am doing what I should at school. I love to make my parents proud of me!” Her favorite book is Deep Blue. Karen is involved in the 6th grade band, playing the clarinet. She was a Student of the Week in 5th grade also. Away from school she enjoys watching TV, reading, and playing outside. Karen says that she admires both of her parents because they work hard to take good care of her and her brother. Her future plan is to go to college and have a very happy life.
