GUYMON - Ava Collins is the fifth grade Student of the Week at North Park Elementary School. She is the daughter of Phillip and Dana Collins as well as the granddaugh­ter of Mavis, Dean, Marty, Virginia and Joan. Her teachers said, “Ava can be counted on to do the right thing no matter what. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a great personalit­y.” When asked about her feelings in regards to her selection, she replied, “I am very happy and excited for this honor!” Her favorite books are the Charlie Bone and Harry Potter series of books. She also received the Kindness award in fourth grade. Ava is involved with the Tabernacle Baptist Church, and she enjoys clogging. Away from school, she likes to listen to audio books. She admires her teacher, Mrs. Seibel, because she encourages Ava to be her best. Her future plan is to become a doctor.

Geng Chan is the sixth grade Student of

the Week at North Park Elementary. He is the son of Aduop Chan. His teachers stated, “Geng is an excellent student who works hard in class. He is well-liked by his peers as well as his teachers. Geng is a pleasure to have as a student in our classes.” When asked about his feelings, he replied, “It really makes me feel great about myself. I was not expecting this award but am very thankful my teachers chose me!” His favorite book is Wonder. He is involved in the sixth grade band playing the tuba. Away from school, he enjoys playing outside or playing his video games. He admires Kobe Bryant because he is such a great basketball player. Geng’s future plan is to become an NBA player.
