Mary Wooldridge

Mary Louise (Young) Wooldridge peacefully journeyed from this earth to her Heavenly Home and her loving Savior Jesus on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.

The daughter of Adam Robert and Minnie Ruth (Garrett) Young, Mary was born June 30, 1930 in Hooker, Oklahoma. She was raised in Hooker, graduating with the HHS Class of 1948. Following graduation, Mary worked as a teller at the Hooker First National Bank.

Mary and Gayland Arthur Wooldridge were united in marriage on August 15, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2000. Mary was a devoted homemaker and after her children were in school, she worked as head bookkeeper and bank officer at First National Bank of Guymon.

Mary was a member of the Guymon Church of the Nazarene and later attended Calvary Community Church after moving to Lincoln, Nebraska in July of 2017. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society at church, County Extension Club and the Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and being with family - especially watching grandchild­ren’s sports and musical activities.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Minnie Young; brothers, Jackie and Billy Joe Young and sisters: Dorothy Campbell, Betty Campbell and Shirley Ann Stametz.

Survivors include her three children: Gayle Godwin and husband, Carl of Lincoln, NE, Crystal Caddell and husband, Rick of Norman, OK and Bryan Wooldridge and wife, Michelle of Phoenix, AR; her nine grandchild­ren and their families, as well as nine great grandchild­ren; and one sister, JoAnn Johnson of Hooker, OK.

There will be a private family graveside service (due to Covid-19 concerns) on Monday, November 23rd at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, OK with her son-in-law, Pastor Carl Godwin officiatin­g. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Parkview Christian School Scholarshi­p Fund. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolence­s at www.bunchrober­ts. com.
