GUYMON - Texas County OSU Extension Educator and Family for Consumer Sciences, Arleen James, believes in the magic of the holidays. James will be presenting a “Holiday Goodies” Demonstration and DIY program on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020 at 6 p.m. in the conference room at the Texas County OSU Extension Office. This demonstration is open to the public and only costs $10.00. Dur

ing the program, James will demonstrate how to make some of her favorite hot chocolate recipes such as snickerdoodle hot chocolate. James will also be putting her hot chocolate mixes into homemade hot chocolate bombs that have been going around on Facebook. James will also be showing how to make other holiday goodies like bacon crackers, Christmas tree spinach dip breadsticks, a caprese candy cane board, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer cheeseball, cranberry jalapeno salsa, and hot chocolate charcuterie board. Along with all of the recipes, James will be showing community members how to make DIY gifts. With the year that everyone has had, DIY gifts are an easy, cheap and heartfelt way to show your loved ones how much you care. Gift-giving is an act of kindness that can show you are thankful, and giving a homemade gift will have the person you are giving the gift to truly feeling your gratitude towards them. The gifts James will be demonstrating includes cookie decorating kits, rice sensory boxes for kids and an ice cream kit. James said, “These things I will be making and demonstrating will make great gifts for everyone young or old.”
