Wanda Bunch

Wanda Mae Bunch, 96, longtime resident of Guymon, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she lived for the past three years.

Wanda was born September 1, 1924 in Flat, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas Dutton Clark and Ida Pearl Vance Clark. Her younger years were spent in Missouri and eastern Oklahoma, and she was proud to tell you she ran track and was a forward in basketball. During World War II, she was a patriotic employee at Fort Leonardwoo­d in Missouri, as part of the secretaria­l pool.

After the war, she married her sweetheart, Arle Ellis Bunch, on August 30, 1945, in Dixon, Missouri. As a result of that union, one daughter and three sons were born. Wanda and Arle resided in Richland, Missouri, for a time before moving to Texhoma, Oklahoma, where Arle worked at the Dawson funeral home. Later, they moved to Alva, Oklahoma, where they continued to grow their family while Arle was employed at the Hill Funeral Home. Finally, in 1959, the family moved to Guymon, Oklahoma, where they establishe­d the Bunch Funeral Home, now known as the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Wanda took the opportunit­y to study, and became a licensed Funeral Director. Wanda was a past board member and very involved in her local Senior Citizens in Guymon.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arle Bunch, and her youngest child Larry Chris Bunch, two brothers: James Clark and Jess Clark, two sisters: Violet Clark and Reba Macormic. Survivors will miss her and include one daughter, Karen Bunch, and two sons, Arle Keith Bunch and Jerry Lynn Bunch and wife, Jennifer, eight grandchild­ren: Dr. Darren Lehnert, Dustin Lehnert, Nikki Hodges, Ashley Bunch, Dr. Jason Bunch, Hillary Harris, David Bunch, and Sarah Kimbark, and many great grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Odie Nunley officiatin­g. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.

Memorials in memory of Wanda can be made to No Man’s Land Senior Citizens Center and will be accepted at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
