Pearlene Mitchell

Lynda Mitchell, known lovingly to her friends and family as Pearlene, ended her aggressive battle with cancer on February 26, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Pearlene was a brave little woman that never faced a challenge she wasn’t ready to tackle. She was a friend to many and loved her family fiercely. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, sharing stories and hosting events where her family could come together. She shared 42 years of marriage with the love of her life, Phillip. They were married in Hooker on September 16, 1978.

Pearlene was born in Snyder, Texas on August 30, 1957 to Merel Everette and Marjorie Elizabeth (Edmisson) Moore. She attended school in Hooker graduating with the Class of 1975. Pearlene had a long career working at Hooker Equity, Tri-County Electric in Hooker, and later at Tractor Supply in Monahans Texas. Pearlene also shared her talents in service to her Lord as Song Leader, Board President, weekly Bible Study Leader and Worship Leader.

Whatever Pearlene’s family was involved in, she was always there to volunteer and support, whether it was Boy Scouts, baseball, soccer, cheerleadi­ng, church, or sorority. She was known by so many in the communitie­s where she lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents; birth mother, Marjorie who passed away when she was only three, Wilma, her wonderful stepmother who loved Pearlene like her own, and her father, Merel Moore.

Pearlene is survived by her husband, Phillip of the home in Bushland, Texas; son, Casey Mitchell and wife, Sara, and daughter, Lyna Mitchell. Grandchild­ren, William and Dakota Flannery; her brother, Darrel Moore, sister, Pam Burlingham and husband, Dave, and sister-in-law, Dianna Brown and husband, Phil. Survivors also include many nephews, nieces and a host of friends.

The family will greet friends at the Bunch Roberts Funeral Home on Monday evening, March 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Hooker with Pastor Tina Rickman officiatin­g. Interment will be in the Englewood Cemetery in Clark County Kansas at 3:00 p.m., services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
