Hooker High School basketball teams compete at state basketball tournament
,n the Hooker Bulldogs fourth straight year competing in the OSSAA state basketball tournament, the boys and girls teams each fell in the quarterfinals. The tournament was held at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds, Yukon High School and Noble High School.
On Thursday, March 11th, the Hooker Boys varsity faced the Wewoka Tigers at the ³big house” in Oklahoma City. The Wewoka Tigers defeated the Hooker Bulldogs with a final score of 68-47. This loss ended Hooker¶s stint at the state tournament-- for this year. Coach Todd Kerr for the Hooker Bulldogs said in a Facebook post, ³Underclassmen, the e[pectations remain high. Learn from this Mourney and keep building your skills as we strive to become the best we can be. Keep building on the culture that has been established.”
This years senior boys will have ended each basketball season of their high school careers at the state tournament, not an accomplishment to take lightly.
The Hooker Bulldogs finished their season with a 18-3 record.
Also on March 11, the Lady Bulldogs competed in the state quarterfinals at Noble High School in Noble, Okla. They faced off against the Dale Pirates, falling in the end with a final score of 46-29.
The Lady Bulldogs helped make history this year as both the boys and girls teams made it to the state tournament.
