Marilyn Sue (Eddleman) Hollis was born January 2, 1946 in Boise City, Oklahoma to Ruben Edward Eddleman and Evelyn Pearl Collins, passed from this life on March 11, 2021. As a child, Sue enjoyed a life filled with outdoor experience­s, often gathering with family in the Kenton Hills to hunt Native American artifacts or spending a day fishing. In high school she was coined Suddleman by one of her favorite teachers. Shortly after high school, Sue married Michael Glenn Hollis of Texhoma, Oklahoma. The two moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma allowing Sue to attend Oklahoma State University, eventually graduating from the University of Tulsa and pursued her love of painting. In 1972, the young couple returned to the Oklahoma Panhandle to manage the Hollis Ranch and begin a family. There they raised two daughters, Natasha Beth and Amber Nicole.

In addition to teaching art classes and traveling to art shows, Sue lived the life of a farmer and rancher along side her growing art business. Traveling around the country with her paintings, Sue had the opportunit­y to expand her business, eventually gaining internatio­nal success. Some of her most prestigiou­s awards include being a NAFA – Brazilian gold medal winner; participat­ing several times in the Biennale Internazio­nal dell’’ Arte Comtempora­nea – sponsored by the UN and hosted in Florence, Italy; and memorializ­ing several fallen solders that lost their lives during the Iraq and Afghanista­n wars for the Faces of the Fallen – Arlington National Museum, USA and their families.

In 1995, Sue moved to the Texas hill country. She loved the natural environmen­t of the area and was especially fond of the blue bonnets. Sue made her home in Wimberly, Texas in 2005. Always active in the community and surrounded by friends, she could often be found at a local community event or on the dance floor of the local dance hall. She enjoyed dancing, archeology, yoga, politics and gardening.

Sue is survived and missed beyond measure by her partner Steve Parshall, his children and their families. By her daughters, Natasha Beth Hollis of McPherson, Kansas and Amber Nicole Hollis-Fesmire of Guymon, OK; son in laws Frank White and Kyle Fesmire, along with grandchild­ren Chad Brett Raybon, Beau Nicole Fesmire and James Atticus Cross Fesmire. Brothers Ed Eddleman and Paul Jay Eddleman and their families.

Family and friends will be gathering for a meal at noon (12:00 CST) followed by a celebratio­n of life will be held at the Kenton, OK community building on April 10, 2021. Please join us in celebratin­g Sue.

Family encourages you to share your memories and celebrate her life by writing or recording a story of Sue. Memorial donations may be made to the Kenton Cemetery fund or to an education program or University of your choice.
