Shop and Dine highlighting Downtown Main Street businesses

Retail therapy, indulging in tasty foods … there are different options, but regardless of which one you are ready to jump into there is an event with your name on it. Shop and Dine, a monthly event held on the first Thursday of the month with the focus of encouraging residents to visit Downtown Guymon. This month’s event is taking place this evening.

“Shop and Dine is organized by a group of retailers with an event taking place every month, with a break during the Summer,” Susan Barias said.

Each month has a focus and this month is going to stick with the back to school theme and recognize teachers. The community is encouraged to take part in the event and visit the retailers who are taking part.

“We want to recognize our teachers and show them our appreciation,” she said. “This is a great time to find local and unique products as many of the participating stores will have deals for everyone and specials for teachers,

along with food and drinks.”

Currently there are a group of retailers who have partnered together to host the evening, but there is still room for more local businesses who are wanting to take part. Retailers on Main Street wanting to take part can reach out to Main Street Guymon or any of the participating businesses. There is a small geographical area, according to Barias, that the event is focused around to allow for those attending to walk from shop to shop.

“Shop and Dine is a time when the public can enjoy shops on Main Street, see new products and avail of discounts and special prizes. A vibrant Main Street reflects a vibrant community!” she said.

Shop and Dine on Main Street Guymon with your favorite retailers on Sept. 2 from 4-7 pm. This month, we will celebrate and show appreciation for our community's teachers! Take advantage of this opportunity to find local and unique products. Participating stores will have deals for everyone, specials for teachers and, food and drinks for all. Main Street Events will feature the Sugar Shop. Those who visit all of the participating stores will be entered in a drawing for a Swag Bag featuring over $200 worth of awesome prizes and a $50 gift card from Equity Bank.

This month's event is organized by Equity Bank, Golden Crown, Main Street Events, Merle Norman and SPC WOW Boutique.
