Local veteran Norman D. Enns honored with a veteran banner

Norman D. Enns, son of D.A. And Susan Fast Enns, enlisted in the U.S. Army, Dec. 1, 1942 at the age of 20. He served as squad leader in combat 2nd Infantry Division until his honoarble discharge as Staff Sargent Company M, 9th Infantry, Nov. 18, 1945 at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas.

Tour of duty included the Invasion of

Normandy, Rhineland Ardennes and Northern France.

Norman received one Bronze Star Medal, four Bronze Service Stars, and numerous distinguis­hed unit badges during his tour of duty.

Norman continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in Nov. 17, 1948.

Proudly standing beneath Norman's flag are his three sisters, Betty Enns Moore of Guymon, Donna Enns Chapman of Plainview, Texas, and Patty Enns Spoonemore of Spearman, Texas, along with his daughter and numerous nieces and nephews, including Susan Moore of Guymon, Ron and Margaret Enns of Dalhart, Texas, Larry Moore of Guymon, Kathi Moore Horn of Montgomery, Alabama, Carolyn Chapman Baker of Plainview, Texas, Johnny Moore of Guymon, Marilyn Enns McCarty of Texline, Texas, Connie Enns Stelzer of Guymon, Frank Chapman of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Dannie and Becky Moore of Guymon.

Other family memebers of the three day Enns gathering, hosted by Dannie and Becky Moore and Johnny and Melanie Moore were, Dale Moore, Melaine Moore, Johnathan and Noelle Moore and sons M'Coy, Marshall, and Parker, Mallorie and Stefan Mueller and sons Clay and Audie, Carol Moore, Tyler and Stephanie Chapman and daughter Haley, Corroll Stelzer, all of Guymon. Also, Terry and Sharon Chapman and Tera and Kyle Anderson, all of Kansas City, Missouri. Along with Robert Weaver of Spearman, Texas, Carl McCarty of Texline, Texas, Tommy Baker of Plainview, Texas, Charles Horn of Montomery, Alabama, Patrick Owen of Thorton, Colorado, and Ashley Moore of Bovaria, Germany.
