Charlene Cornelsen, 90-yearold Texhoma, Oklahoma resident passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

Charlene LaVera Shubert was born on April 7, 1931, in Guymon, Oklahoma to F.C. and Velma (Norris) Shubert. She attended Texhoma Public Schools graduating with the class of 1949. She attended Wright Business School after high school for one year.

On September 17, 1950, Charlene was united in marriage to Paul William “Corny” Cornelsen. This union was blessed with three sons: Gary, Rex, and Bruce.

Charlene owned and worked at the local insurance office and tag agency.

She loved the piano and gospel hymns.

She was very involved in the Texhoma community and was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Texhoma, Oklahoma belonging to the LWML. At one time Charlene was on the hospital board, member of the Red Hats, President of the Texhoma Chamber of Commerce and Citizen of the Year in 1993. She was involved in Al-Anon and AA support group.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Paul in 1987, and one sister Nadine Huddleston in 2020.

Left to carry on her legacy are her three sons: Gary Cornelsen and wife Deborah of Amarillo, Texas, Rex Cornelsen and wife Lori of Norman, Oklahoma and Bruce Cornelsen and wife Vicki of Texhoma, Oklahoma

Gary and Deborah's children and grandchild­ren: son Justin and wife Kimberly Cornelsen, their children Cade, Kinley and Kennedy Cornelsen, son Ryan and wife Jamie Cornelsen, their children Kaylee, Cooper and Cambre Cornelsen.

Rex and Loris children and grandchild­ren: son Trevor and wife Ashley Cornelsen, their children Guinevere and Asher Cornelsen, daughter Quincee and husband Aaron Dossey, their children, Rhett, and Eloise Dossey.

Bruce and Vicki's children and grandchild­ren: daughter Stephanie Eads, her children Parker and Zach Eads, son Brad Cornelsen and wife Jaimi, their children, Wyatt and Wynn Cornelsen, son Jarrod and wife Emily Doan, their children Darian and husband Josh Bowling, Jordan Ball, Ethan Doan, Drew Doan, Tyler Ball and Jaxson Ball, son Brandon Doan and his child Alexis Kearney.

Visitation will take place 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Texoma.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Texhoma, Oklahoma with Pastor Tom House officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Texhoma City Cemetery.
