-

Margie Marie (Jennings) Martin, 103, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Margie was born on Tuesday, August 20, 1918, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to her parents; Ruth and Joe Jennings. Margie and her three sisters lived with their mother, who was a school teacher in Texhoma, Oklahoma and with her grandparents who owned a bakery. They all lived in a house that was built by her grandfather. When the girls reached high school age, Margies mother moved them to Eads, Colorado where Margie met a young college student named Calvin from Lamar, Colorado.

A year later on February 6, 1942, Margie and Calvin Martin were united in marriage. The young couple moved to California, then back to Denver where Calvin became a Rural Route Mail Carrier. They adopted two children: daughter; Debbie and son; Dean. They bought a 4-room home in the Golden, Colorado area. Calvin, being a skilled carpenter, built the home into a 10-room palace. While Calvin expanded their home, Margie worked as a post mistress in an old mining town called Heritage Square in Golden. In 1973 Margie and Calvin retired and moved to Texhoma, Oklahoma, where Margie's mother was still living. They bought the house she was raised in, that her grandfather built in 1922. They lived there blissfully for 34 years until Calvin's death on May 1, 2010. Margie then moved in with her daughter Debbie.
