Aggies’ season ends in Oklahoma City

-

CHICKASHA --- The Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggie baseball team ended their season on Day 2 of the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament. Falling to the Mid-America Christian Evangels.

Head coach Shawn Joy looked back on the season saying, “We didn’t have the year we wanted but we still accomplished some good things. Thanks to everyone who supported us this year.”

An explosive day from both the Evangel and Aggie offense. Combining for thirty-eight hits and thirty-nine runs.

Sophomore Braeden LeJarraga designated the start against the Evangels. Tossing three and two-thirds innings before handing the ball off to Josiah Roundtree. The Aggies would make quick use of their bullpen after Roundtree would last only a single inning. Corbin Yandell, Tate Nebhut, and Colton Anderson each added another inning of work for the Aggies.

With their season coming down to this game against the Evangels, the Aggies battled hard to try and keep their season alive. Trailing early to the Evangels did not keep the Aggies from producing on offense. Trailing by fourteen in the bottom of the sixth, Panhandle State would send Manrique Mora to the plate to start things off for the Aggies.

Mora would do just that with a lead-off double. Freshman Dylan Hughs would get the first runs across for the Aggies since the third inning with a two-run home run. Panhandle State went on to score eight more runs in the inning to come within four of the Evangels. Highlighted by home runs from Ethan Hunt and Dylan Hughs, doubles from Manrique Mora and Tucker Bond, and singles from Mora, Hughs, and Madrigal.
