Students of the Week
Madelynn Rodriguez (left) is the fifth grade Student of the Week at North Park Elementary School. She is the daughter of Carlos Rodriguez and Maribel Gutierrez as well as the granddaughter of Antonio and Maria Gurierrez and Miguel and Esther Rodriquez. Her teachers said, “Madelynn is a great student. She has a very positive and helpful attitude. She works hard in class and is reliable for her teachers and others.” When she was asked her feelings in regard to her selection she replied, “This means that the hard work I put in school is noticed by my teachers and they believe in me!” Madelynn is involved in the Kids, Inc. program playing basketball and softball She is a member of a traveling softball team. She is also involved with the Guymom Dance Company. Away from school she enjoys traveling, playing with her friends, and spending time with her family. She most admires her cousin Aaiyah Guitierrez. She said, “I really would like to be like my cousin because she is really successful at softball and in school.” Her future plan is to become an interior designer.
Miguel Santi Silva (right) is the fifth grade Student of the Week at North Park Elementary school. He is the son of Tamara Salinas. His teachers said, “Miguel is a very good young man. He is kind to everyone, follows directions and is always doing his best. Miguel is a friend to everyone and appreciates all his friends and teachers.” Miguel is on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Away from school he enjoys being with friends and family. The person he most admires is his mother and he said, “I admire my mom because she is a single mother that takes care of our family and works very hard to provide for us. She is always there for me.” Miguel’s future plan is to finish school and design his own video game for people to play.
