MAC Scholarship submissions open
Middletown Arts Center (MAC) is accepting submissions to the Scholarship Competition for the eight day Summer Young Artist Workshops June 21-24 and June 28-July 1. The deadline for entry is March 25.
Every summer the MAC hosts an 8-day hands-on, in-person, summer arts experience for the community youth. This immersive class concept is a unique program that enables students to explore their creativity with a wide variety of visual arts mediums in a relaxed classroom setting guided by experienced instructors.
All area youth grades 1-12 who display artistic ability are invited to apply for a scholarship so that they can take part in this great program for free.
Multiple scholarships available. Youth and teens interested in expressing their artistic voice are encouraged to apply. The competition is open to all area youth grades 1 through 12. Must be available to attend the complete 8-day workshop session at the MAC. The student should submit one small drawing on a 8 1/2’ x 11’ paper along with the Scholarship Competition Application Form to the Middletown Arts Center, 130 N. Verity Parkway, Middletown, OH 45042 by March 25.

On March 15, crews from Heavy Highway Construction Company will start construction to replace the bearings, modify the abutment seats and replace expansion joints on the structure over University Boulevard.
During the first phase of the project, the outside lanes of Ohio 122 (Reinartz Boulevard) will be closed between Charles and Moore streets, and traffic will be maintained in the inside lanes. Traffic will remain in this configuration until approximately June 1; after which, construction will shift to the inside lanes, and these lanes will be closed.
The project is scheduled to be complete in September.
