Pooch Perfect, 8 PM on Ch. 22 and Ch. 9:
Actress Rebel Wilson hosts this new eight-episode reality competition series in which 10 of the best dog groomers in the country (and their assistants) compete in themed challenges. First up, the Immunity Puppertunity challenge gives a team the chance to win immunity from elimination. Then, in the Ultimutt Challenge, the team tackles an epic grooming transformation, with the final results shown off on the “dogwalk.” “Vanderpump Rules” star Lisa Vanderpump, dog stylist Jorge Bendersky and veterinarian Dr. Callie Harris are the celebrity judges.
As they grow older and more headstrong, the quints have been fighting more than ever under the frustrations of the pandemic, so the Busbys agree to join the Mills in San Antonio to let off some familial steam in the new episode “Girl Fights and
Big Heights.” Meanwhile, Hazel is prescribed an unexpected treatment at her eye appointment, and Danielle tries to confront her profound fear of heights.
In 1946, Black military officer Isaac Woodard was returning home to South Carolina after serving in World War II when he got into an altercation with a bus driver who refused to let Woodard off at a rest stop. Woodard was taken off the bus and the local chief of police beat him so savagely that he was permanently blinded, although an all-white jury acquitted the chief. Jamila Ephron’s documentary “The Blinding of Isaac Woodard” examines how this horrific incident changed the course of U.S. history.
