Extinction: The Facts, 8 PM on Ch. 16 and Ch. 48:
Owing largely to the devastating global effects of climate change on natural habitats, scientists, ecologists and conservationists have made the dire prediction that as many as one million species face the imminent threat of becoming extinct. That’s bad news not just for these myriad creatures, but also the countless other animals whose lives are affected by the presence of these endangered species. Sir David Attenborough explores the topic of extinction and how this crisis has consequences for us all, even making more pandemics increasingly likely.
Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk) — or, more accurately, the genocidal extraterrestrial who murdered Harry and assumed his identity — finally stands at the brink of carrying out his mission to wipe out the entire human race as this TV adaptation of a darkly funny comic book by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse wraps up Season 1 in a finale called “Heroes of Patience.” Fortunately, however, Harry is wrestling once again with those pesky human “feelings” that have been confounding him. Syfy has renewed the series for a second season.
In the Season 2 finale, “Who’s the Queen?,” just as Bill psyches himself up to pop the question to Bri, Kathleen begins filling his head with doubts. Erica returns to Florida, but she still hasn’t decided whether that includes going back to Rick. As Desiry forces Rodney to choose between her and his mother, Reese makes a grand romantic gesture for Nonie.
