MetroParks of Butler

County announced upcoming programs in various park locations. “Log Off … Shut Down… Get Outside” virtual topics and activities will also continue to be published on MetroParks website and Facebook page.

Registrati­on details for in-person programs: All in-person programs will be limited to no more than 10 people including staff, volunteers and participan­ts until such time that social gathering limits change.

Registrati­on will be required and will open two weeks prior to each program date. Registrati­on links can be found via the Programs & Events tab on the MetroParks website, YourMetroP­arks. net. Masks are required to be worn by all participan­ts, staff and volunteers and “Health Acknowledg­ment” forms will be required to be completed prior to each program. April programs include:

■ “Wild about Spring Wildflower” series, from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Spring hikes will take place Saturday at the Reigart Road area of Rentschler Forest MetroPark, April 17 at the Springfiel­d Road area of Indian Creek MetroPark, April 17 at Harbin Park in Fairfield, and April 24 at Governor Bebb MetroPark

■ “Get to Know Governor Bebb MetroPark,” 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The current location of the boyhood home of Gov. William Bebb, this MetroPark is a history lover’s dream. Learn some of its fascinatin­g history

while enjoying a 0.6-mile hike among the trees.

■ “Animal Games Obstacle Course,” 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Huffman Park. Play like an animal in the animal games obstacle course. Learn how animals get around and figure out how your moves compare to others.

■ “Photo Walks: Tips for Shooting Close-Ups and Intimate Landscapes,” 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 15 at Forest Run MetroPark. Learn from photograph­er Susan Milinkovic­h as she shares tips on photograph­y in nature in a hands-on setting. Look for the “small stuff ” around the ponds, along the path and in the gardens. Learn how to capture close-ups and intimate landscapes in nature.

■ “Earth Day Hike, Serve + Yoga,” 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April

22. Get outside and hike on the trails at Rentschler Forest MetroPark along the Great Miami River, serve by helping to remove the invasive garlic mustard plant, and restore your body practicing a 45-minute yoga session.

■ “Big Week of Birding, “April 24 to May 1. Join members of the Audubon Miami Valley in celebratio­n of birds during the annual “Big Week of Birding.” Enjoy bird hikes at various MetroParks locations lead by birding experts.

■ “Show & Tell on the Farm,” Thursdays and Sundays in April These programs will continue in a virtual format with new topics published twice a week on the MetroParks website and Facebook page.
