■ Visit the Mid-South Sculpture Alliance exhibition at Pyramid Hill

The Mid-South Sculpture Alliance’s

outdoor exhibition at Pyramid Hill will continue through late October. The show includes nine large-scale sculptures from members of the Mid-South Sculpture Alliance. All of the participating artists are located in the region and are at varying stages of their artistic careers. The exhibition contains both figurative and abstract work and includes a range of materials and building techniques. These works are interspersed throughout the park so viewing this show allows visitors the opportunity to see the entirety of the park. The show route is walkable, but for those with mobility issues, cart rentals are available.

“Not only does this exhibition offer visitors a great opportunity to visit the park and support local artists, it also allows visitors to see how a venue impacts the context of the work, especially how work is perceived and interpreted in a natural setting,” said Gabi Roach, art and programming manager at Pyramid Hill.

The Mid-South Sculpture Alliance is a membership based

nonprofit and is an affiliate organization of the International Sculpture Center. Its membership is open to anyone, anywhere with an interest in and commitment to the field of sculpture. As an organization, the mission of MSA is to advance the creation and awareness of sculpture in its many and varied forms, and seeks to encourage the understanding that sculpture educates, effects social change, and engages artists, art professionals, and the community in dialogue. ■ Explore a local winery With the newest addition of Seven Mile Winery in Wayne Twp.,(www.sevenmilewinery.com) the region now has another new winery to explore, in addition to Hanover Winery (www. hanoverwinery.com) in Hanover Twp., which has quickly become an area favorite.
