Christmas luncheon

to men and women who have contributed materially to making the Oxford Community a better place to live, with those contributions being made in the current year.

■ Citizen of the Years honors those whose commitment to community services covers a longer span of time.

Contributions to the community that are taken into consideration for these awards are to be beyond those duties of regular employment of the individual or individuals.

Nominations need to include a written background on the nominee, what contributions make them a great nominee, the category they are nominated for and the contact information for the nominator so that additional background information may be obtained. Without these items the nomination cannot be considered.

Recipients for 2021 will be announced in the Jan. edition of the Oxford Press. The recipients will also be honored at the Oxford Kiwanis Club luncheon on Feb. 15. The location of the luncheon will be announced closer to the event.

Previous recipients of the awards are invited to attend the selection committee meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 4. The meeting this year will be held virtually using ZOOM technology. The Friends and Neighbours Club Christmas luncheon party will be held at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8 in The Sinatra C Room at Centre Park Event Centre inside The Holiday Inn, 5800 Muhlhauser Road in West Chester Twp. Entertainment will be songs and games.
