Movie: Police Academy AMC 8 p.m.

When the mayor of a crimeridde­n city loosens the restrictio­ns on entering the police academy in order to get more cops on the street, all manner of oddball characters enlist to join the force. Among the cadets are suave Carey Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg), hulking Moses Hightower (Bubba Smith), beautiful Karen Thompson (Kim Cattrall) and sound effectsgen­erating Larvell Jones (Michael Winslow), who all have to show initiative and courage when they are faced with tough situations out on patrol.

Movie: If I Can’t Have You LIFEMOV 8 p.m.

In this new installmen­t of the “Gabbi Luck Mysteries,” disk jockey Michelle Hall (Gina Hiraizumi) attracts the attention of a demented fan and her boyfriend, Aidan (Houston Rhines), suspects it’s her nosy neighbor, Mr. Sklar (Michael Paré).

Movie: The Searchers TCM 8 p.m.

In this revered Western, Ethan Edwards (John Wayne) returns home to Texas after the Civil War. When members of his brother’s family are killed or abducted by Comanches, he vows to track down his surviving relatives and bring them home. Eventually, Edwards gets word that his niece Debbie (Natalie Wood) is alive, and, along with her adopted brother, Martin Pawley (Jeffrey Hunter), he embarks on a dangerous mission to find her, journeying deep into Comanche territory.

Movie: A Journal for Jordan STARZ 10:45 p.m.

Deployed to Iraq, First Sgt. Charles Monroe King starts to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Back at home, Dana Canedy, a senior editor for The New York Times, revisits the story of her unlikely, life-altering relationsh­ip with King and his enduring devotion to his beloved family.
