Butler County residents at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guideline pay their heating bills. Residents who are threatened with disconnect­ion, have been disconnect­ed from their utility service, are transferri­ng services, establishi­ng new services, or are at or below 25% fuel may be eligible for the Winter Crisis Program.

In addition to HEAP and the Winter Crisis Program, SELF also verifies and reverifies Butler County Residents on the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) Plus. To apply for HEAP or verify/reverify PIPP Plus, complete the Energy Assistance Programs Applicatio­n and drop it off at 415 S. Monument Avenue in Hamilton, 930 9th Avenue in Middletown, or by emailing them to contact@selfhelps.org.

SELF also partners with its sister agency, the Miami Valley Community Action Partnershi­p, to provide free weatheriza­tion services to Butler County residents. Weatheriza­tion can both lower your energy bills and provide health benefits. tree canopy along Ohio 350 between Ohio 123 and Middleboro Road. The route will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crews will return Tuesday, to continue clearing the canopy between Ohio 123 and Middleboro Road, working eastward along the route. Once work has been completed in this section of Ohio 350, operations will move to between Middleboro Road and Gum Grove Road and then between Gum Grove Road and the Clinton County line.

Crews will be working daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. as weather permits. Message boards will be placed at each section of closure and moved as operations progress from location to location. Emergency and local-only traffic will be maintained by ODOT crews; however, thru-traffic motorists may detour by way of Ohio 123 and U.S. 22 or seek alternate routes.

All work is anticipate­d to be completed by mid-June.
