LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

Good design transcends time and place. It lasts forever—in a way that can influence your life or even change it for the better! It makes a house a home.

Philanthropy is essential for the financial health of the arts, hospitals and medical research organizations, our environment, children’s welfare, and animal protection and rescue. Our community counts on the generosity of its residents. One of the things I’m most proud of is working for and supporting our local institutions.

Becoming grounded is one of those things that help to make all of life’s ups and downs much easier to navigate. When we can empty our mind, focus on our breath, and get grounded, we become calm and clear-headed. We are bringing our Self section to life with events and activities that offer a wealth of wellness opportunities for you.

Health and wellness, “becoming our best selves,” here on the East End is marked by the incredible spirituality and groundedness of the year-round community—our farmers, food providers, and wellness programmers.

The art featured on our cover is by photographer extraordinaire Gray Malin. He captures aerial views of beach destinations in a way that’s unique and beautiful. Over the past year, I have learned about people’s universal love for Gray’s work, and we are so thrilled to have this beach scene, snapped in the Hamptons, as our cover art.

We also celebrate more of our philanthropic partners as we join Group for the East End, The Retreat, East End Hospice, the Wellness Foundation, the Hetrick-martin Institute, and the Nature Conservancy for their annual fundraisers.

Enjoy the longer days and warmer nights. Enjoy the beauty that nature designs for all of us! See you in two weeks with our July 4th double issue, and I’ll see you in town!
