THE SHELTER ISLAND BOATHOUSE IS THE PERFECT VENUE FOR THAT CLASSIC HAMPTONS VIBE.

Since the 1920s, the Shelter Island Boathouse has been a staple of Hamptons living from being a storage space for fishermen’s lobster catches, to acting as a recording studio for Billy Joel’s River of Dreams album, to its latest use as a beautiful venue perfect for anything from weddings to elegant, season’s-end soirées. “We kept the rustic style of the original space for character, but added some chic design elements to modernize the building,” says James Brantuk, the owner of the venue. “With the amazing water view and incredible sunsets, it truly is the perfect spot for a Hamptons event.”

Spanning 4,000 square feet and just a 200-foot walk from the shore, the boathouse offers spectacular views of West Neck Harbor, and features a unique, elegant interior with much of the original woodwork in the building. The central locale of the venue, though, gives the space the unique ability to source the best vendors, from photographers to caterers, to make sure any event hosted in the space is one to remember. 63 South Menantic Road, 631-749-3333; theboathouseshelterisland.com
