Look At Other States’ DMVs
The DMV does need to be modernized and made more efficient. Long wait times are still common at many DMV offices.
A radio talk show covered the DMV issue recently. One caller said that in Arizona, drivers are issued a lifetime driver’s license. Every 10 years, drivers have to return to the DMV office and get a new photo taken. The process takes five minutes. That sounds pretty efficient to me. Another caller said that in Massachusetts, most DMV business is done on your home computer, eliminating the need, in many cases, to go to a DMV office in person.
Maybe Connecticut DMV officials can examine how other states operate their DMV departments and implement best practices here in Connecticut.
